Garden of Love
Words by William Blake
Music by Julia Van Daam
I went to the garden of love
And I saw what I never had seen
A chapel was built in the midst
Where I used to play on the green
And the gates to the chapel were locked
And thou shalt not was writ over the door
So I turned to the garden of love
Which so many sweet flowers bore
And the garden it was filled with graves
there were tombstones where flowers should be
and preists in black gowns they were walking the rounds
binding with briars their joys and desires
I went to the garden of love
And I saw what I never had seen
A chapel was built in the midst
Where I used to play on the green
Where I used to play on the green
Where I used to play on the green…..
